I’ve been busy doing other things, but I have managed to do a few 3.5″ x 3.5″ drawings. Most of these drawings were done to test the pen colors for larger drawings.

Large Metallic Mandala 4
This mandala was create on 16″ x 20″ Carson Black Art Board using Sakura Metallic pens. It did not come out exactly as I expected, but the lines did provide a basket effect.
Large Metallic Mandala 2
This mandala was done on 16″ x 20″ Carson Black Art Board using Sakura Metallic pens. When I am using colors in my drawings, I like using as many different colors as possible.
I first sketched in a grid using circles and lines, then I applied the color.
Large Metallic Mandala 1
I decided to do some drawing on large drawing boards, 16″ x 20″ This drawing was done on Carson Black Art Board using Sakura Metallic Pens. I used a compass and ruler to draw the grid lines for the drawing, and than I created the pattern using only lines.
Mandala’s on Black
Here are a few of my more recent drawings. I think I have develop an addiction. I love filling in the drawings will just simple lines.
The Spiral Puzzle drawing below was a big puzzle trying to figure out where the spirals overlapped.

Spiral Puzzle
Another drawing celebrating the month of Love.

Spiral of Love
Half way through drawing the mandala below I noticed that I messed up the pattern. Instead of tossing it in the garbage and starting over, I came up with a solution.

ND6D
When you have a template of circles, squares, triangles, rectangles and octagons, sitting in from of you….
ND6D was drawn on a Studio Series Black Artist tile using Sakura gel pens.
Unbalance
Not the direction I started off in, but is where the pen took me.
Done on a Studio Series Artist tile with Faber Castell pens and cheap metallic color pencils.
As The Stars Turn
The drawing was doing on Studio Series Artist’s 3.5 inch black tile, with Sakura Gel Pens. It is base off of Suzanne McNeill’s pattern name “Twilight Zone”.
Tissue Box
I saw a some videos on fluid painting and pour painting. Just watching the videos is mesmerizing, and the results are beautiful. I decided to try it out. But, I did not have any fluid to add to paint to get it to flow. All I had was the acrylic paint that comes in the 2oz bottles. I use a trash bag and painter tapes to tape off each side that I would not be painting. I used metallic acrylic paint. Letting each side cure overnight. It took days to finished. The outcome was impressive.
Now, I trying to decide if I should do a pour on the inside of the tissue box, or just leave it like it is.
