The Amarillo Zoo is probably the best small zoo I have ever visited. It has a wide variety of animals for being small. Don’t expect to get a lot of exercise walking around, but there is a lot to see.

Wildcat Bluff Nature Center in located in Amarillo, Texas. It has three main nature trails that are under a mile to the windmill. There are other trails, paths, that you can take around the area. It is open year around, and what a difference 3 months makes.

No matter what time of year it is, it is well worth the hike to see this view.

The windmill is the meeting point for the three main trails.

Such a beautiful area.

Did you know I have a flower blog? It is named “Up Close to Flowers“. It only contains pictures of flowers, with my best attempt to identify them. There are hundreds of flower pictures posted on the blog. Sometimes it just nice to stop and see that large variety of beautiful colors.
Below is a small sample of the beauties.

We moved! Well at least part of the site has moved, and it been an adventure that has lasted several weeks. I decided to move some of my artwork, or what I consider works of art to a new site named sarahcath.art. I know the domain name isn’t very exciting but describes what is being hosted on that site.
On the new site, sarahcath.art, you can find my drawings, paintings, and wood projects. Along with all my travels and everything related to technology, this site will continue to host the coloring pages, plastercraft houses, and my clay projects. If you would like to continue to see my artwork, you are welcome to follow my art site.
More adventure coming soon, but here is a little look at the past adventures.

I am usually out of town when the when the Nebraska State Fair rolls around. This year I made it back into town just in time for its very last day. The Nebraska State Fair isn’t just about the carnival rides, its mainly about 4H and FFA. There is livestock, food, crafts, woodworking, quilt and many more competitions. There are food vendors and other vendors displaying their merchandise, entertainers, and concerts. Here are some pictures from the fair:

Amarillo is located in the Texas Panhandle along the historic Route 66. They are known for Palo Duro Canyon (America’s Second biggest canyon) and Cadillac Ranch. Amarillo is also the Helium Captial of the World.
Due to rain, I was not able to visit Palo Duro Canyon. There is a nice, pleasant walking path around the hospital’s complex lake.

Near the lake was Helium Monument:

Cadillac Ranch is located on the west side of Amarillo. It is opened 24 hours a day. The biggest surprise was the layers and layers of paint on the vehicles.

It was a beautiful day to take pictures at the Amarillo Botanical Gardens. I was impressed that they had a large variety fruit and vegetables growing. Their gourd collection had different varieties with brilliant colors. If I had to pick my favorite flower, it would be the Tartan Dahlia.
To see some of the flowers, check out my Up Close To Flower blog.

Here are a few pictures from a beautiful day in Downtown Champaign, IL. Pictures of their statues are located on Statues Around Champaign, IL blog post.

The church buildings around downtown Champaign are shown on my blog Churches from Around.
