It rained and rained, and heavily rained during all of my drive through Oklahoma. Sometimes, you just need to make a stop. I turned off the interstate and drove east about five miles and found Pops.
Guess what Pops sells besides gas and souvenirs. At Pops I purchased some Coke.
Okay, they are not all Coca-cola, but in the Southern United States all soft drinks are referred to as cokes.
I also learned while looking at the souvenirs that I was on Route 66. If it was later, I could have a lunch at their diner.
Day twenty-five into the 100 Mandalas in 100 Days Challenge I am on number 40. Below are some of the latest mandalas that I like.
This mandala was done with neon gel pens.
This is the same on as above, but shown under blacklight.
Mandala 022 – Black light

This mandala was done with the doctor’s office’s ballpoint pen while waiting.
All of the mandalas are shown on the Mandalas Challenge page.
This my be the best restroom in Nebraska. What make a good restroom? 1) Clean; 2) Individual rooms; 3)
Yes, heated toilet seats. To bad it was 80 degrees outside. 4) You can get drink, food and gas right outside the door.
This painting was done on a 5″x5″ canvas. It started out as a pour painting, but the blue paint took over the painting. After it dried, for about a week, put a mandala on top of the fluid painting using metallic acrylic paint.
A lot of times, I add shading to my drawings to give them depth. I add color to my drawings to give them something extra. However, once the ink was applied to this drawing, no color are shading was required. It had it’s own beauty and depth.

My first ten mandalas for this challenge are posted on the 100 Mandala Challenge page. I am on day 13 and I am seven ahead. That will come in handy when I start my long drive to the south. Below are drawings 011 through 020.

I do not know how this week’s drawing were all in color. There are normally more black/white drawings than color. I guess I was in a colorful mood.

I was reading Kathryn Costa’s book “The Mandala Guidebook“. It challenged the readers to create 100 Mandalas in 100 Days. My definition of mandalas, not the official definition, is: a design, usually round, that is symmetrical. I enjoy drawing mandalas, so challenge accepted. Below are the first five.
As I work on the next 95 mandalas, I will post them on my 100 Mandalas Challenge page. Note: The feature image a mandala I did right before I accepted the challenge.
Sometimes you have to work through the bad to get to the good, the pretty, and the amazing. Believe it or not, you learn something with ugly drawings. Below are some of the good and bad drawings from August. Others drawing are on the Drawing page.
