The Gathering Place is a 100 acres park on the banks of the Arkansas River in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It’s a park that anyone, of any age, can find something to do. Every thing, except food and drinks, are free in the park.
Oklahoma
Sunrise, from Hotel Parking Lots
Some people stay at a hotel until it is time to check out. Me I wake up and get going. One of benefit is I get to see a lot of sunrises. Here are the pictures I took from the hotel parking lot. I saw a bunch more sunrises. No pictures because I was driving.
Flowers at Tulsa Botanic Garden
Below are just a few pictures of flowers that are at the Tulsa Botanic Garden. Over the next few weeks, I will be posting more flowers on my flower blog UpCloseToFlowers.
Tulsa Botanic Garden
If you are ever near Tulsa, Oklahoma, anywhere near Tulsa, the trip to Tulsa Botanic Gardens is worth the trip. Even the drive to this remote location, north-west of Tulsa, is beautiful with it’s rolling hills and trees. The garden is absolutely gorgeous. Wear sunscreen, because you may want to stay all day. Wear inset repellent, because you probably will want to take the 1.5 mile nature hike.
Pops
It rained and rained, and heavily rained during all of my drive through Oklahoma. Sometimes, you just need to make a stop. I turned off the interstate and drove east about five miles and found Pops.
Guess what Pops sells besides gas and souvenirs. At Pops I purchased some Coke.
Okay, they are not all Coca-cola, but in the Southern United States all soft drinks are referred to as cokes.
I also learned while looking at the souvenirs that I was on Route 66. If it was later, I could have a lunch at their diner.
